influenza (on kirstine roepstorff) is a feature length documentary about the danish artist kirstine Roepstorff. As it follows kirstine towards the biennale in Venice, the film becomes a film about creating itself.
it begins when kirstine was appointed danish national representative at the 57th edition of the worlds most prestigious art event, la biennale di venezia.
hovering between kirstines mind, her home and studio in rural Denmark, concrete sculptures in copenhagen, weavers in paris and architects and gardeners in venice, the film portrays an artist from inside her head and our through her eyes and hands to the expertise of different artisans.
